You can use the following filenames to indicate the home page
(index) for your directories:
index.html, index.shtml, index.asp, index.php
default.shtml, default.asp, default.html, default.aspx, default.phpJunctionbox provides no Web site development services, but we have relationships with a number of local developers that we can refer you to. Ask your Account Manger for a developer list either via email: sales@junctionbox.net or by phone (352) 683-0349, 8:00 am - 9:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
To connect to your Web site and upload your web pages, and also to update them later you have a couple of options. You can use Microsoft's FrontPage, or another web development application (e.g Macromedia Dreamweaver). Or you can use the FTP (File Transfer Protocol) program of your choice.
If you'd like, you can upload your content with an FTP program, some good shareware ones can be found at TuCows and the CNET Shareware sites.
Your FTP client will show no directories. You will have to change into the directory of your site. (e.g. www.junctionbox.net would cd into a directory named junctionbox.
Once changed into the proper directory you should see the following folder:Deleting and/or modifying these files or directories can cause errors in your site's operation. Junctionbox will charge for time and materials used to fix problems caused by your changes.
Use your FTP clients tools to move (upload) your files from your computer to your hosting space at Junctionbox. - Usually these tools are in the form of an arrow button, or you can drag files from one window (listing the files on your hard drive) to another (listing the files at Junctionbox).
Once all of the files that make up your site are in the same window as the files listed above, you're done! Put the domain name into the address line of your web browser and check out your web site.
Your Junctionbox Web Hosting account comes with quotas for disk space and data transfer. The size of that space is determined by your account type. See: Shared Windows Hosting Information for details. If you exceed the allotted disk space and data transfer rate, you will be charged per megabyte (averaged over a month of usage) of stored or transferred files that are over the amount specified by the type of your web hosting account.
Please talk to your Account Manger, sales@junctionbox.net or (352) 683-0349 8:00 am - 9:00 pm, Monday - Friday , to adjust the amount of disk space and or transfer allowed for your web site.
You can find your log files in the logs subdirectory of your web hosting account. This directory is also available at the URL: http://www.<Domain>/logs/ Your log files are recorded in Greenwich Mean Time and are in the W3C Extended Log File format.
The disk space that your log files take up counts against your allotted total on our web server. You can delete the old log files, but not the current ones - deleting the current log file can impair the function of your web site. We suggest that you back up your old log files onto your local hard drive (or another secure location) on a regular basis. Junctionbox also offers the services to burn your log files to CD-Rom for a small fee of $15 a CD-Rom.
By default we compress the current log file and create a new file on a daily basis; this is called 'rolling' the log file. If your site is particularly busy, and gets a lot of traffic and or errors these files can grow pretty big pretty quickly, and end up taking up most of your web site space.
Every Web site is unique, and every Web site owner is interested in different information about site traffic. For this reason, Junctionbox also encourages our customers to use our WebTrends log analysis services or other Log Analysis Software for this purpose.
Send an E-Mail to diskspace@junctionbox.net with your domain in the subject line and your request will be answered within 24 hours of your request.
The Submit It! service at http://www.submit-it.com/ will submit information you provide about your site to most of the major search engines. Visit their site for more information.
Webmonkey has a great article on Optimizing your site for Search Engines.
The Web has always used an unofficial, ad hoc convention to prevent search engine robots from indexing a site. Robots adhering to this convention will skip any directory containing a file named robots.txt. If you wish to prevent robots from indexing any of your site, create an empty file in your virtual domain's document root.
The details of the robots.txt convention are documented on http://info.webcrawler.com/mak/projects/robots/exclusion.html.
A secure Web server is one that encrypts all data between itself and browsers that connect to it. The primary value of a secure server is to provide peace of mind to customers who may send sensitive information (such as credit card numbers) to your Web site. You may have both secure and non-secure servers using the same name (e.g., www.<Domain>: your non-secure server will have the URL http://www.<Domain> and your secure server will have the URL https://www.<Domain>. ("HTTPS" means Secure HTTP, a version of the language spoken by web browsers and servers that use encryption.)
A digital certificate is the electronic equivalent of a passport -- it verifies that your web server is who it claims to be. Servers are required to be configured with digital signatures. Digital Certificates are issued by an entity known as a certificate authority. The certificate authority's role is to act as a trusted clearinghouse that can verify the authenticity of a certificate in the event of a forged certificate. VeriSign and Thawte are notable certificate authorities. Junctionbox Online Services can also issue valid certificates for any purpose from HTTPS to any need you might have.
Junctionbox will obtain a digital certificate for you when you purchase a secure server. You will be responsible for the cost of the digital certificate.
You can order a secure server as part of your virtual domain. Contact your Account Manger by phone (352) 683-0349 or via email sales@junctionbox.net for pricing and other information.
If your certificate was issued for Verisign, we can install it on your Junctionbox secure server. Otherwise, your certificate will probably need to be revoked and regenerated by the issuing certificate authority.

Please be as descriptive as possible in your message. The more details you provide, easier it will be for us to diagnose and solve the problem.
